Welcome to Our Lady of the Rosary Eco Stewards page. Our Eco Stewards are facilitated by Miss Dyson and led by our pupils. Every year group has elected Eco Steward representatives and we will meet regularly to discuss how we can work together to help the environment and be more eco-friendly as a school.
Following our initial meeting, our pupils have made some brilliant suggestions including ideas to plant wildflowers for bees and butterflies, plant more trees, create mindfulness areas outside in nature, create a range of different habitats on the field to encourage wildlife, grow different fruits and vegetables that can be used by the school kitchen, install solar panels, lead whole school recycling projects and have dedicated litter pickers on our school ground and in our wider community.
Our Eco Stewards have agreed that our key project will be leading a whole school project to grow fruits and vegetables that can be harvested and used by the school kitchen. Our key co-project (alongside our school council) will be to develop a ‘Health Ambassador’ scheme run by pupils, for the pupils. This scheme will focus on how to achieve and maintain a healthy body, healthy diet and healthy mind.
We look forward to sharing our developments in these areas on this page.
