Spontaneous Prayer
At OLRS, we encourage children to develop a personal relationship with God through spontaneous prayer—prayer that comes from the heart, in the moment. Spontaneous prayer allows children to express their thoughts, feelings, and gratitude to God in their own words, fostering a deep and meaningful connection with their faith.
Encourages personal reflection and spiritual growth.
Helps children develop confidence in talking to God.
Strengthens their understanding that prayer can happen anytime, anywhere.
Supports our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, as children pray for the needs of others and the world.
Classroom Prayer Spaces: Children are invited to share their own prayers during collective and quiet reflection times.
Whole-School Worship: Opportunities for spontaneous prayer are built into our Celebrations of the Word and assemblies.
Daily Prayer Moments: We encourage children to offer personal prayers in the morning, before meals, and at the end of the day.
Guided Reflection: Staff support pupils in expressing their own prayers through scripture, music, and moments of stillness.
At OLRS, we remind our children that prayer is a conversation with God—one that can be spoken, written, or held in the silence of their hearts.
