Our Lady of the Rosary

Our Lady of the Rosary – Our Patron Saint

At Our Lady of the Rosary School, we are blessed to have Our Lady of the Rosary as our patron. She is a perfect model of Joy, Excellence, and Service, guiding us in faith, prayer, and love as we grow together as a school community.

Who is Our Lady of the Rosary?

The title Our Lady of the Rosary comes from Mary’s appearance to St Dominic in the 13th century, where she encouraged devotion to the Rosary as a powerful prayer for peace, protection, and spiritual strength. The Church celebrates her feast day on October 7th, reminding us of the importance of prayer and trust in God.

Why is Our Lady of the Rosary a wonderful patronal saint for our school?

She teaches us the power of prayer:
Our Lady calls us to pray with love and devotion. The Rosary helps us reflect on the life of Jesus through Mary’s eyes, bringing peace and joy to our hearts. At our school, we follow her example by making prayer an important part of our daily lives.

She inspires us to live with faith and trust:
Mary’s life was one of faith, courage, and trust in God’s plan. She inspires us to follow God’s path with confidence, to work hard in all we do, and to always strive for excellence in our learning and relationships.

She shows us how to love and serve others:
Mary was a humble servant of God, always ready to help others. As our patron, she reminds us to serve with kindness, compassion, and generosity, whether through small daily acts of love or in helping those in need.

She unites us as a school family:
The Rosary is a prayer that brings people together, and at Our Lady of the Rosary School, we are a family of faith. Inspired by Our Lady, we support, encourage, and care for one another, creating a school where everyone belongs.

She leads us to Jesus:
Above all, Our Lady of the Rosary always points us toward Jesus. She reminds us to follow Him with open hearts, to live out our faith, and to share His love with the world.

As a school, we are proud to bear her name and strive to follow her example of Joy, Excellence, and Service every day.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.
