Praying the Rosary

Pray the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world. – Our Lady of Fatima

At Our Lady of the Rosary School, the Rosary is at the heart of our faith life. As a school community, we honour Our Lady of the Rosary, who calls us to pray and draw closer to Jesus through the mysteries of the Rosary. This beautiful prayer helps us to reflect on Christ’s life, seek Mary’s intercession, and grow in faith, hope, and love.

The Significance of the Rosary for Our School

A Symbol of Belonging

Each child who joins our school is gifted their own Rosary, a special sign that they are part of our faith-filled community. This Rosary reminds them that, just like Mary, we are all called to grow in love, prayer, and service to others.

A Prayer of Reflection and Faith
The Rosary invites us to meditate on the life of Jesus, from His birth to His resurrection. Through its joyful, sorrowful, glorious, and luminous mysteries, we deepen our understanding of God’s love and His plan for us.

Guided by Our Patron
As a school dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary, we follow Mary’s example of trust, humility, and devotion to God. She teaches us to listen to God’s call and to live with Joy, Excellence, and Service in all that we do.

A Tradition of Prayer and Unity
Praying the Rosary unites us as a school family and with Catholics around the world. Throughout the year, we come together in special Rosary prayers, particularly in October (the Month of the Rosary) and May (the Month of Mary).

Bringing Peace and Strength
The Rosary is a source of peace, strength, and comfort. It helps us to bring our worries to God, to pray for others, and to seek guidance in our daily lives. As Our Lady promised, those who pray the Rosary with faith will find grace, protection, and spiritual growth.

How We Pray the Rosary in School

  • Class and Whole-School Rosary Prayers, as part of class prayer times during the year and with special significance in October and May.

  • Child-led Rosary groups, where children take an active role in leading prayer.

  • Opportunities for personal reflection, encouraging pupils to use the Rosary in their daily lives.

  • With members of our wider community, when we are joined in prayer by our Parish Rosary Group, as well as parents and carers.

Prayers of The Rosary

The Joyful Mysteries

The Luminous Mysteries

The Sorrowful Mysteries

The Glorious Mysteries

We dedicate time each day for prayer in the classroom, allowing our students to pause, reflect, and connect with God. This time of prayer helps foster a sense of peace and mindfulness, encouraging children to make prayer an essential part of their daily routine. Whether in moments of quiet reflection or collective prayer, these daily practices nurture their spiritual growth and strengthen their relationship with God.
