House Saints
At Our Lady of the Rosary, each of our four houses is named after one of the patron saints of the home nations: St George, St Andrew, St David and St Patrick. These saints are remembered not only for their courage and faith, but also for the way they lived out the Gospel message in their own time and place. They inspire us to grow as a community rooted in love, living out our school mission each day.
St David – Patron of Wales
Feast Day: 1st March
St David was a bishop in the 6th century who founded monasteries and called people to live simply and faithfully. He is remembered for his holiness, his humility, and his famous words encouraging others to “do the little things” with love. St David teaches us that even the smallest actions, when rooted in love, can bring about great change. His example connects with our mission as a school community, reminding us to serve others with kindness and to value every person as a child of God.
St Patrick – Patron of Ireland
Feast Day: 17th March
St Patrick was a missionary bishop who brought Christianity to Ireland, often in difficult and challenging circumstances. His life is a story of trust in God, perseverance, and sharing the light of faith with those around him. At Our Lady of the Rosary, we look to St Patrick as an example of faith in action. He encourages us to place our trust in God and to bring hope and joy into the communities we are part of, living out the mission we share as a school family.
St George – Patron of England
Feast Day: 23rd April
St George was a Roman soldier who gave his life as a Christian martyr. He is remembered for his great courage and his willingness to stand firm in his faith, even in the face of danger. At Our Lady of the Rosary, St George inspires us to live with integrity and to be brave enough to do what is right, even when it is difficult. His example reflects our mission to bring hope and light to others by being faithful witnesses to Christ.
St Andrew – Patron of Scotland
Feast Day: 30th November
St Andrew, the brother of St Peter, was one of the first disciples called by Jesus. He is known for his openness to Christ’s invitation and his eagerness to share the Good News with others. For us, St Andrew is a model of welcome and discipleship, reminding us that every person has a role in God’s mission. His life reflects our school mission by encouraging us to live in friendship with Christ and to invite others to share in that same joy.
