As humans, we are made to live in community with one another.  This means being active members of the world we live in. We are meant to look out for each other and build each other up. This is how God wants us to live. Living in community with others is more than simply living near people. We need to recognise the dignity in other people and treat them as such. We are also called to recognise our own gifts and talents and use them to make our communities better!

‘Don’t be observers, but immerse yourself in the reality of life, as Jesus did.’

Pope Francis, World Youth Day, 2013

At Our Lady of the Rosary we build a strong, inclusive community where everyone has a voice. Our Pupil Parliament, playground buddies and anti-bullying ambassadors help to create a safe and welcoming environment for all. We work with Baby Basics, providing essentials to mothers and babies in need, and each year we take part in the Epiphany “Gift for the Baby Jesus” appeal, donating baby items as a reminder of Christ’s call to care for the vulnerable. We support our parish through events such as the Parish Christmas Fair and our cultural celebration, “A Taste of Home,” where families share food and traditions from their heritage. Pupils write cards and letters to housebound members of our parish, bringing comfort and connection to those unable to join us in person. They also write to local government about issues such as graffiti and community care, showing how their voices can bring about positive change. Our pupils take part in community litter picking, helping to care for our local environment and showing pride in our shared spaces.
