Caritas Ambassadors

Our Caritas Ambassadors lead our school community in putting Catholic Social Teaching into action. They help everyone at Our Lady of the Rosary to recognise that our faith calls us to care for others, protect creation and work for justice. Their action is always rooted in scripture and the life of Christ. Their responsibilities include:

  • promoting the six Caritas principles: dignity, community and participation, care for creation, solidarity and peace, option for the poor, and dignity of workers
  • planning and supporting fundraising events for charities such as CAFOD, The Passage Westminster and Baby Basics
  • helping to organise whole-school initiatives including intergenerational projects, environmental projects such as the school allotment, and the World Day of Migrants and Refugees walk
  • encouraging other pupils to see how small actions can make a big difference

The Ambassadors undergo a training programme designed by Caritas Westminster, meeting regularly with the Religious Education Co-ordinator (REC) for guidance and to plan new projects.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:17–19
